Antonio Parbonetti, PhD was born in Vibo Valentia
Dr Parbonetti received his degree in Economics and Business at the University of Pisa in 1997 followed by a PhD in Business Administration in 2011. During his PhD he attended the Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland-USA) and the Cardiff Business School as international visiting scholar. After working at the University of Pisa as a researcher, he finally joined the University of Padua (UniPD) in 2003.
Dr Parbonetti has authored more than 50 manuscripts (between articles on national and international peer-reviewed journals and monographs). The main topics of his research are: corporate governance; fair value accounting especially in regard to banking and voluntary and mandatory communications. During his career, he has secured numerous research grants from both public and private funding agencies. Dr Parbonetti is a member of the Editorial Board of prestigious international journals, among which Contemporary Accounting Research.
Dr Parbonetti has held management roles within the University; since 2012 he is the president of the Masters degree course in Business Administration, head of International Office within the Department of Economics and Business and member of the UniPD Erasmus Commission. From 2013 Dr Parbonetti is also a member of the Board of the School of Economics and Political Sciences and scientific manager of the agreement between the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Padua and the Department of Economics and Business. Since 2013, he is a member of the Board of Directors of BMR Genomics (a spin-off company of the UniPD).
